The Tarring Club is a CIU affiliated members social club.
Originally built in 1907 and named West Tarring Working Mens Club, the club was popular with the local working community and their families up until it’s bombing in the second world war in 1943, the club was reduced to rubble leaving only the flag pole standing.
The club was rebuilt and returned to it’s former glory in 1950.
Renamed as The Tarring Club, the club has undergone complete refurbishment of the downstairs bar and upstairs function room.
The original club flag pole albeit slightly shorter now is proudly displayed in the main bar along with many photo’s.
As a club we offer cheaper than pub prices and a warm friendly atmosphere.
The club supports pool, darts and bar billiards, and is the home of the Monday Night Pool League for the surrounding area and also the headquarters of the Worthing Chess Club held on Monday nights, see worthingchessclub.co.uk for details.
Take advantage of all these great benefits with membership costing just £15 per year (subs payable in January yearly) CIU affiliation cards available.
New members are welcome, pop in and have a chat with our bar staff to find out how to become a member.
